• Cosmetic or environmental issues (retained puppy teeth, hernias, luxating patellas, kennel cough, dew claws, weight loss, or ears that do not stand)

• Exercise: Avoid jumping until 12–15 months (growth plates still developing)

• Outdoor Safety: Yorkies are prey for hawks, owls, foxes, and coyotes

• Nutrition: Feed high-quality food for meals and snacks

• Veterinary Care: Keep vaccinations and boosters up-to-date; consult vet for non-core vaccines

• Puppy-Proofing: Keep your home and yard safe at all times

• Grooming: Maintain coat, skin, ear, and dental health

• Harness: Use a harness instead of a collar to protect the trachea

• Leash Safety: Always use a leash and harness outdoors
